One of the most common questions we hear from homeowners is: “Will the crew damage my home during flooring removal?”
It’s an important question. The honest answer is this: Flooring removal can cause damage. However, these issues usually turn into disasters only when the work is not done by skilled professionals.
At Advanced Flooring Removal (AFR), we’ve seen firsthand what happens when untrained crews handle demolition work. That’s why we built our company differently—from the ground up.
The Problem with Cheap Flooring Removal Crews
When I first started in this industry, I noticed a trend that bothered me. Many demolition crews had 0–20% knowledge of flooring installation. They understood very little about how flooring systems were built, and they had no background in carpentry or materials.
That lack of skill created two big issues:
- No care in the removal process: Floors were ripped out with brute force, not precision.
- No ability to repair damages: If a baseboard cracked or a subfloor chipped, they had no idea how to fix it. Homeowners were left frustrated, paying extra to repair damage that could have been prevented.
This is where most flooring removal companies cut corners—literally.
Why Advanced Flooring Removal Is Different
At Advanced Flooring Removal, we set a higher standard. We’re not just a “demo crew.” Our team is trained in both flooring removal and flooring installation. That means we understand the entire system, from the surface layer down to the subfloor.
Here’s what makes us ADVANCED:
- Trained & Skilled Crew: Our technicians are skilled not just in removal, but also in installation and carpentry.
- Damage Repair Ability: If a baseboard, trim, or subfloor gets damaged, we don’t leave it. We repair it and make it look like it never happened.
- Proactive Processes: We don’t wait for issues to pile up. We assess, address, and resolve problems on-site.
- Professional Equipment: Using the right machines and tools ensures precision and minimizes unnecessary damage.
The Truth About Damage
Let’s be clear: with the volume of projects we complete, damages can happen. Flooring removal is aggressive work. But here’s the ADVANCED difference:
- 1. We assess any damage immediately.
- 2. We communicate with the homeowner right away.
- 3. We repair it professionally, so it looks like it never happened.
That’s accountability. That’s craftsmanship. That’s the AFR Gold Standard.
Cheap Labor vs. Advanced Flooring Removal
When it comes to flooring removal, homeowners face a choice. The truth is, cheap labor often ends up costing homeowners more in the long run.
| Cheap Labor Crews | Advanced Flooring Removal |
|---|---|
| Limited knowledge of flooring systems (0-20%) | Highly trained in Removal, Install & Carpentry |
| Minimal equipment (Sledgehammers) | Equipped with Industrial Machinery |
| No repair skills if something goes wrong | Proactive damage assessment & immediate repair |
| Lower upfront cost, higher risk | Competitive pricing with Premium Results |
Why “Advanced” Isn’t Just a Name
We chose the word ADVANCED because it defines our entire philosophy: Advanced knowledge of flooring systems, Advanced training in carpentry, and Advanced care in protecting your home.
It’s not just demolition—it’s a craft. And our team is trained to deliver a complete, professional service that goes beyond what most flooring removal companies offer.
FAQ: Flooring Removal & Home Damage
Q: Can flooring removal damage my walls or baseboards?
Yes, it’s possible during the removal process. However, at AFR, we use the right tools and techniques to minimize this risk. If damage does occur, we have the carpentry skills to repair it.
Q: Will flooring removal damage my subfloor?
If done improperly, yes. Many crews tear out flooring aggressively without protecting the subfloor. At AFR, we take care to preserve the subfloor—or repair it if it’s already compromised.
Q: Do you fix damages caused during removal?
Absolutely. If something happens, we repair it and make it look like it never happened. That’s one of the biggest differences between us and cheap labor crews.
